Doing something funny for money at Lingfield Point »

With over 50 businesses and 2,500 staff who love to giggle and enjoy the lighter side of life at Lingfield Point, it seemed appropriate to be supporting Comic Relief’s Red Nose Appeal.

Customers enjoyed taking aim at Joe and Alex from canteen – our specialist caterer and on-site deli cafe operators – with water bombs and sponges – getting them back for the tasty treats on offer around our 107-acre business park.

Joe – enjoying a sponge or two for Red Nose Day.

And a water bomb for Alex….!

We even enjoyed welcoming our little lingfield-ers – our little people from our on-site nursery, Little Lingfields, who surprised us all with the direct hits scored.  They put us all to shame!

Our little lingfielders surprised us all with direct hits!

Well done to all involved, a great day and a good old giggle  – we’re loving life at lingfield!

It’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas! »

A HOME-MADE Christmas is on the cards this year – plus a chance to change our lives for the better in the New Year.

We’ve now put together a whole host of events full of Christmas cheer and our 2,500 employees can also relax knowing that we’ve also programmed some events for that post Christmas moment too!

Merry Christmas from Lingfield Point!

Lingfield Point, home to over 50 businesses and over 2,500 employees, will enjoy plenty of Christmas cheer making their own felt decorations, weaving bags and even knitting a warm winter scarf to keep the cold out this Christmas.

On 11 December, we’ll be carol singing in Lingfield House as we can browse around our craft specialists and artist in residence – Becky Sunter – learning new skills with gifts galore.   A specialist vintage ‘sweet shope’ will visit the neighbourhood on the December 4 and 12.

Turkey with all the trimmings will be served up at the on-site bistro ‘canteen by Alexander MacMurray’ and as Christmas parties get close, staff will be getting spruced up when the My Little Beauty mobile beauty salon visits.

And in the New Year, Lingfield spread the love and support – trying to help you through your new year resolutions.   Look out for a post-Christmas health check and try out Reiki healing techniques to free up your  energy levels and visits from Teesside University throughout those first few months.

Eddie Humphries, Estate manager, said: “Lingfield Point is all about giving people an enjoyable whole-life experience where leisure, culture and fitness blend seamlessly with work.

“There’s no reason why the dark winter months can’t be fun, and our programme of workshops offers that as well as a bit of new learning for everyone who works here – we’re hoping as many as possible come along and join in.”

For more information on the range events and happenings around Lingfield Point, feel free to log onto www.lingfieldlife.co.uk and look under events or even find us on facebook at lingfieldlife.

No matter how cold the weather get – we’ll soon warm you up with a bit of Lingfield Love!

Fitness, friends and fun – Life at Lingfield Point »

We’re often thought of as the first place to come for office space in Darlington – but its great to know that people are now thinking of Lingfield Point as the first place for fun and fitness.

Great support for our new boot camps

Our social calendar – packed full of events and promotions is really starting to gain momentum.  We’ve now launched our new Happy Fit Camps – a unique boot camp with a difference.   Rather than pushing yourself sweating blood and tears, we’ve developed a new way of losing weight .. through the joy of laughter.  Our happy fit camps make losing weight a giggle.

We’ve decided to take a softer approach with our boot camps – adding laughter into the mix – ensuring that firm friendships are made during the trials and tribulations trying to shift that weight.

Giggling ... a great tonic to ease stress

Created in conjunction with Get Fit Military, our first session certainly challenged.  Biting wind and rain didn’t stop over 30 people attending and as you can see from the pics …. the camp certainly lived up to its name.

Matt Stirland from Get Fit Military was amazed by the turn out: “We’ve had over 30 people come to our first session – in the all the years of running boot camps across the Tees Valley, this is the highest number of attendees for a first session. Laughter certainly seems to have makes a difference. The support shows that the social scene is alive and kicking at Lingfield Point”

A fab start to our happy fit camps - proving laughter is a great tonic

We’re delighted that our customers have embraced life at lingfield and our happy fit camps and we’re looking forward to launching our new jogging trail in May in conjunction with Diabetes UK

Our Happy Fit Camps now take place every Wednesday from 6pm at Lingfield Point.

For more information and join in the fun, call Matt Stirland on 07816782357 or follow him on twitter @getfit_military.

New events calendar - out now

We’re keen on ensuring that colleagues get the best from their life at Lingfield Point so we’ve developed a Summer calendar – packed full of events, promotions and entertainment throughout the coming months.

We’re welcoming Choc Choc Hurray on 4/5 April in canteen where you’ll be able to taste chocolate from a chocolate fountain and experience the production of chocolate first hand. With tasty treats also available to buy, you can also experience the more unusual flavours from around the globe. Look out for the exquisite chocolate shoes – beautiful to look at but even better to eat!

Enjoying Easter could have a detrimental effect on the waistline, so we’re also pleased to announce that our fitness boot camps and exercise classes are making a welcome return with a twist.

Our new look boot camp

Lingfield Point’s happy fit camp is a cheeky take on the fitness boot camps of the past. Always full of smiles but with a force to be reckoned with, you can enjoy this challenge from 18 April and watch your waist reappear – just in time for the summer sun.

For people that prefer a more relaxed lingfield life, why not look out for our new monthly textile masterclasses – helping you to get crafty or even join our new knitting group – Stitching Knitwits – meeting in canteen every Wednesday from 25 April.

So what are you waiting for – come and enjoy life at Lingfield!

Here at Lingfield Point, we’re known for our exceptional office space but also our quality of life and feel good factor.

Working together is important

Its no secret that we’re the first place companies visit if they want office space in Darlington but its also great to know that we’re the first place people come for events, seminars, and a good old knees up!

As Darlington’s largest business community, it was great to see the recent NECC ‘let’s talk’ networking event hailed a success for local businesses and we’re now looking forward to helping host some cracking events during March including:

8th March.  Darlington – Develop together in conjunction with Darlington Partnership.  Consultation over the development of Darlington. Let your voice be heard.  Meadow, Lingfield Point.  Register by email at Darlington@tbr.co.uk

14 March.  Get to know your Neighbour @ YARN.  Mintronics – one of YARN’s latest customers are keen to set up a free networking event giving companies 5 mins to present to our community in the form of a 5 min pitch.  A great way of getting to know your neighbour and looking at ways we can all work together.   Plenty of opportunity with much wine-sipping too!  Register your interest at business@mintronics.co.uk

21 March.  Budget Live!  Organised by Tees Valley Unlimited & Recognition. Tees Valley Unlimited invites you to Budget Live! -  a fully interactive event with keynote speaker David Smith – Economics Editor at the Sunday Times.  Hear TVU’s ambitions for the local economy and Mr Smith’s expert views on UK plc’s performance followed by a live broadcast of George Osborne’s 2012 Budget.  Don’t miss your opportunity to network with peers as the Tees Valley business community responds to the Chancellor’s speech and relays its thoughts on the North East economy to a national economics commentator.
