A route to greener living

THE wheels on the bus go round and round Lingfield Point – and the chatter, chatter, chatter is all about saving money on fuel – and saving the planet.

Location is everything when looking for office space in Darlington but services come a close second. The extended 1/1b bus service has proved a real hit with many of the 2,000 plus workers based at the business park, who can now smile as they pass the petrol pumps on their way to work.

Celebrating sustainable transport at Lingfield Point

It’s important to our Lingfield Life ethos to make Lingfield Point as eco-friendly as possible and we’re determined to do more than pay lip service to it. So we’ve been working with the bus operator, Arriva North East, and can offer those first time bus users a one-off weekly ticket worth £25.50 ift hey leave their
car at home.

Arriva North East has also come up with a new online tool that’s hours of fun for everyone – just go to http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/fuel/ to calculate the CO2 you could save by using public transport. Give it ago.

It’s just another way Lingfield Life can make a difference by ensuring our carbon footprint leaves a much softer impression.

This extended service is funded by the Department for Transport through the Local Sustainable Transport Fund in partnership with Team Local Motion, Darlington Borough Council, Lingfield Point and Arriva North East.

Lingfield Point continues its green transport ethos by providing electric charging points for electric vehicles and is one of the few places in Darlington you can recharge.

And – if you arrive at Lingfield Point by bus – or just fancy a spin in your lunch hour – why not take advantage of our free bike hire. We’ve got everything you need helmets, locks, panniers – you’ll have to provide the pedal power. Just call in to the hub and sign up.
